Cut bait for Channels most of the time. Live bait for Flatheads ALWAYS. Why? because that is what they eat. Flats are mostly preadators they likes em live and wigglin! Channels are like hieana's they will eat most anything.

My worms stay alive until I thread em on a hook and dunk em in the water. Then, they turn to catfish bait. Works for me.

Add some Chile, onions, hot jal pepper relish and a shot of mustard on my dog. I'll take 4 of em.

I use cutbait 95% of the time although my largest Blue was on a live shad. I just do better with cutbait. Blood in the water seems more attractive to me for catfish.

Let's see, cut or live. Both.

    Why? Because they like both.

Type of hook? Circle and Kahle.

Fresh or frozen? Fresh is better.

What portion? The part with guts.

    Photo's? Don't have any.

    Anything else? :smile2: LOL

The fish you see in our avitar were caught drifting using cut shad heads with the gut /gizzards inside [cut on angle] from head to anal fin, this works for drifting 80% of the time. If i'm targeting Flatheads live is best but if I cant get any it's crappie heads or cut Skipjacks. A catfish has thousands of taste receptors in the skin so maybee that's why so many are caught using cut/ scented baits???
