Hey y'all, I'd like to give a nice catfish rod to someone for a Christmas present, with custom colors & the recipients' name on the rod. Can anyone recommend a good rod builder who has experience building catfish rods like this? Thanks very much.

Don't know if you're trying to keep the cost down or not. Custom rods can be $200-$800. If you want mildly custom these guys may be able to help for under $100. Email them on the site and see what they can do for you.

I'm looking to spend $150-$300 total on the rod, which seems to be in the range of what most custom catfish rods I've seen can cost.

I’ve never had a custom rod built but I have communicated with both of these guys and they were both super helpful and friendly.

Another option might be Tomcat rods. Not a full blown custom shop but you can pick different colors and have names etc. on them. Last I checked he was behind on orders so lead time might be an issue.

I second those Leviathan rods. They can custom anything from reel seating length to eye guides.
