I was there today and the skips are up in there, I still have my problems with my knee, So I couldn't get down there on the rocks and had to stay on the side walk, I got a few and a friend of mine was there and he got my bucket full in no time..I think I was there about a hour. So if you all need skipjax , take you a couple five gallon buckets and have at it,,,,,,,

I've been trying to go for a couple weeks now, but both of my kids have been sick on and off also and this will always trump going for skipjack.

Were you catching them in the morning or evening, I am going to make a big effort to go tomorrow. Its a drive for me so I am trying to pin point the time the best I can.

the last time I went down there it was around noon, I went last friday evening and we were catching them after dark, we got there alittle late, but we got us about twenty five of them and still made the ferry boat before it closed.

Boy did I wear them out this morning, it was so cold I keep losing fish because my hands were cramped up and couldn't hold the reel, but I caught 156 in 3 1/2 hrs so thats pretty good and I ready for a winter full of catfishing.

I went to C.C. this morning for skips. Wound up catching 40 or so in 2 1/2 hours. They were in the 10"-15" range. As little as I get to fish, these should last me through the winter.

Skips were hot and heavy yesterday at the gallatin steam plant. About 80 or so with a fly rod in a few hours with a couple of stripes to boot.

So like a fun time on a fly rod I'll have to try that some morning. I imagine its a heck of a fight on a light rod

The ones I got into yesterday didn't present a nibble until around 12:15 pm.
