Creek chubs have been my go to bait for just about everything for many years. For walleyes and smallmouth go with 3-4 inch chubs. Everything that eats fish eats chubs.

They work great for River Walleyes. I haven't done so well with them in bigger lakes but have caught lots of other fish on them. Sometimes it helps if you use them on a jig.

They are excellent bait for walleye. Infact I just caught a 6lb 10oz
walleye on a creek chub last weekend.

Saugers will hit creek chubs, too.

I would put them behind as small a jig as I could get by with to get them to the bottom. Walleye and sauger both should really go wild over them..

Walleye around here really go for worms. We put them on a worm harness (long flourocarbon leader with some beads a spinner and a hook or two.) and troll around 1.5mph.

we use big chubs to catch big walleye in some places around here, 5 or 6 inch chubs, on a 2/0 to 4/0 finesse hook on a three way rig in current, and under a slip float on the lake, drop the slip float off the side of the boat and rig it to ride 1 to 1 1/2 foot off bottom on a good spot, add bait and drop over side, lots of big walleye and some great bonus fish.
