When do the crappie start spawning at truman?
I think it depends on the weather and water temperature. Been really messed up the last couple of years and difficult to know for sure. One day I'd find them up on the banks then a couple days later it would get cold and move them back out deep. Chris
I know at LOZ you can usually count on the first or second week of April. We are going down the first wknd in April this year. If the crappie aren't biting you can always snag for some spoonbill.
last year they started to bite the first of April, then it was the off and on thing again according to the weather, they spawned the last week of April to the first week of May.
I live close to Tablerock and the spawn is over at the end of March or real close to it then its Stockton and Pomme's turn, Truman is the last to finish spawning and its the end of April to the first of May and then it all depends on the weather cuz crappie will not spawn until the water stays at least 62 overnight cuz their eggs won't hatch.:tounge_out:
An oldtimer told me around the Federal income tax
deadline time April 15 or so was primetime most years.
Thanks everyone. Just trying to find the best time to take off of work.
Best time to take off work would be April,May and June.
as everyone else tell me when the doswood trees are in full bloom is the best time to get them crappies they will be in full swing of spawning
This one I caught the other day was just over 14 inches and full of eggs.
Whether or not she was ready to spawn is the question. But she had a gut to her.
That is a good looking crappie, congrats Manny
Manuel, Very nice crappie thanks for sharing the pic and the story:smile2:
what kind of water temp are you getting in the coves?
The day I caught that one, the temp was 55 I believe.
