Crappie, fun to stock?

    are they good to stock heard they could take over ponds, which means more food, which breed would be better to sock???

    Unless the pond is actually a watershed of good size I wouldn't do it.

    Small ponds will usually have stunted sacalait, and you can't really eat many of them. They just put more competiton on other fish. In a pond I fish sometimes (3 acres, 6feet at deepest), the record one we got was 1lb. 6oz. last summer. Most of them are under a pound.

    Now in my grandpa's pond in north Louisiana, (15 acres, 17 feet @ deepest) we catch nice eaters...1-2 pound range
