Well that just makes me wish I would have put the boat up already. Congrats on the nice Catch Tom.
Very nice mess Tom, The middle pic or the one "up on the arm" how big is that fish? Sure is a real nice looking spec!!! Congrats!
He was 13" long.
Nice looking fish Tom. Maybe someday you can teach me how to catch some crappie. I have never really just gone fishing for crappie.
Jay anytime you want to go just let me know.
Maybe we can get Kyle,Caleb and you all together soon for a day of fishing for some crappie in the boat.
I will make sure I keep you on the brush pile:wink:
i went up to banner sunday and would've had my limit if i had known there was not a length limit there.i had 5 over 10'' and quite a few of 9 1/2's and 9 3/4's.the bite picked up around noon
Sounds like you had a good day.Yep, no lenght limit at Banner just like at Pomona.
They are the only two lake's where you can keep them under 10" in NE Kansas.Plus at Pomona you can keep 50 fish.
Banner,Perry,Clinton,Melvern,Carbondale only 20fish Limit.
The bite is on at Melvern for crappie if you know where to go.
I'm going this Sat if the wind is not blowing 20mph.
yeah i wish i had remembered that but now i know.i have heard that same report twice this week already!have you heard how deep?i was gonna get out sunday, not sure where yet.the extended forecast said sat. nw at 16mph and sun. was ssw at 9.but what the hell do they know:smile2:if you do end up going saturday, let me know how ya did.might make my decision on where to go a lil easier:wink:
I just heard this morning the winds were going to be strong on Sat.
I might wait until Sun to go to melvern.
But i know someone going Friday i will get a report.
The fish are being caught on the Dam in 18' right on the bottom. Not stacked up yet just trolling along slow picking them up.
Then around Turkey west in the brush 20-25' and starting to bunch on river breaks.
Catching a few around Tonka point also.
Find the shad and you will catch the crappies.
If the winds do blow on Sat I'm heading to Dragoon up the river. It's usally good Nov-Dec there and you can fish it on windy days:
well good luck on the goon and i might see ya out there at melvern on sunday.what ramp do you usually put in at?we will prob get there 7-8 in the morn and put in at eisenhower west.
Most times i come in from the west through Osage City and put in at turkey West. But if i plan to fish up by the Dam i will come down 75hwy and put in on the ramp at the south east side.
I will know Friday and let you know.Time wise i will be there about the same time.
if you dont mind send me your cell# and we can contact each other down down.
My cell# 231-8541
Of course if i catch them at Pomona i most likley will go back there on Sun.
Some very nice slabs in the river at times. And you can keep 50 if you want.
Will with the gale force winds today i headed to the Dragoon.
Got there at 8am at we caught 16 NICE slabs and about 7-8 2lb white bass.
The wind on the river was even bad and colder than &*%^.
The crappies were deep in the brush and you had to stick it right in their nose to make them hit.
It started spitting snow about 12pm on us.
But it was a good day I'm heading back there again tomorrow.
If anyone goes watch the ramp.We broke a tail light clear off the trl due to the logs and depree floating on the ramp.
Very nice catch way to go Bro:smile2:
Good to hear you got in to some today.
Did you run up the stream? Heard of a bunch being caught at the mouth of the creek in all that brush but last time we here in that area it was only 2-3 ft deep I figured that they would be in deeper areas now.
Dan the deepest water in the creek is about 14' but they are in there all yr long.I put in at the 75hwy ramp and head up stream most time's.
But there is goood spots down stream toward the lake.
