Cottonseed Cake

    I just got a 4# block of the stuff.I thought it would be soft,but it is hard.NOW what do I do with the stuff,how do I fish with it? Or is it only used as chum?

    My dad use to use it on trot lines, he'd saw it into 4 inch sq, blocks with a skill saw and drill a hole in the middle. Then he'd run a line through it with a hook on each side of the block, point turned out, this loop made the drop on the trot line. The fish would hook themselves try'n to get the cake, worked good on chanels and sometimes with blues.

    You can chum with it or mix with beef blood to make a dough.

    Iv used it to make Dip Bait with,And boy it STINKS....

    I'm with Sam. That's the way we did our trot lines too.

    god ideas, but the way I heard it was the cakes were to draw bait fish to an area this draws mister whiskers into fishing pole range. Se you on the fishbank sometime
