cotton ball bait

    anyone know whats in this bait saw once couldnt get incredeance, suppose to be good catfish bait?

    take five gallon bucket, fill with shad bait, vetable oil, lots of cotton stir let set untill smells ripe, will stay on treble hook used for cats

    Sounds like punchbait..........I like cattail fuzz better than cotton balls, not so clumpy.

    You might want to add flour or corn starch to make it sticky. When I make mine I use flour. I usually make dip bait to use with tubes. After using Secret 7 dip bait I may not make any more.

    Secret 7 is good I use to make all my catbaits but I think I am done with making anymore:wink:

    When I lived in Texas people would use it and drill a whole in it for bait. They also used cattle cubes on trotlines. Never could find the cottonseed mill used cattle cubes to chum a sandpit a few times. Has anyone ever used either?
