Wow and he is a cop. Who pulls the trigger on a gun even if it is "unloaded" and he obviously didn't check to make sure the chamber was empty. I say he is a candidate for the Darwin award..LOL

I'm thinking Hugh O'Brien did the same thing when he played Wyatt Earp on the tv series. Probably with that Buntline Special. LOL

A cop would do something like that.

Now that has to rank among the top of America's most stupid!

Thank God it was pointed at the guy's own foot and not somewhere it could have hit someone else or ricocheted off hitting someone else.

I like the phrase,"I'm the only person in this room that's professional enough to handle this gun". He'd better rethink that statement.

The best part is the kid's reactions. They just sat there. Maybe they saw it coming...

If you guys will take a long hard look at that film and then notice that the guy never sits down after shooting himself.

That is what is called shock training. Use a blank cartridge and set it off to show what can happen. I don't think any person with any training at all would have a loaded weapon in a class room. I know I wouldn't and neither would any of my co workers.

Any who, If you get hit with a 40 cal in the foot you are gonna go down and you will seek medical attention real quick.
Guys just stop and think abut what has happened in the film.

Good point bubbakat. I don't know any professional that would go into a classroom with a loaded gun unless they were responding to an incident. I don't think it would be allowed. If he did really shoot himself though he is an idiot.

I got that off the drudge report today. The main story was that he had filed suit against his department for releasing the tape causing embarassment and taunts from his fellow officers.

Here's the link to the story:

Could be true grumpy but if he had shot himself I don't care how tuff he is he would have went down immediately

It's as real as can be.

I has been laughed at and discussed to death in all the firearms forums.

"I'm the only one in this room professional enough that I know of to carry..." is now a catch phrase in those communities.

All I can say is WOW!! and HOW!! Yeah that probably shouldn't have been released because it gives a bad impression and accidents happen but this one should definantly not have happened. Attention to detail! He obviously had a loaded magazine in the gun and how he didn't see this is beyond me. That's just firearm basics there.
