May be able to fish the rome event next weekend. Any and all info available on the Coosa in that area would be greatly appreciated. Don't need honey holes (unless you want to tell), just a general overview.

If you plan on fishing south of the lock look for the creek that comes in on the left just after the bridge. I fished there 2 weeks ago caught 2 blues around 20lbs each in an hour&1/2

S.O.L. You better get there early early, or we will already be anchored up and drinking coffee, waiting on lines in the water time

Van, I am pretty excited about fishing with you guys!! Don't be too hard on this good ole boy! Hope you guys are not deep sleepers, the Army been training me to get up early for a LONG time!:smile2: Heck I might be able to unload my boat and sneak right on out of there without waking you all up at the ramp!

I'm going to try the Coosa tomorrow. Guess I'll put in at the Locks and Damn ramp and go down from there. I'll be trying to castnet up a few shad and maybe try to catch a few bream on crickets. It'll be my first time catting that part of the river. Any suggestions as to good hole and where Imight be able to find some shad?
    Thanks
    Bill

To catch shad find some back water to cast in, or hit any grassy banks you can find on the river. Anchor or tie above deeper logjams and fish them on bottom and different depths with slip float rigs.

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll try the first sloughs I come to and use the casting net. Would like to catch enought shad to fish some live and some cut.

Have you fished the Coosa recently?
