I spent the afternoon last Friday (Confederate Memorial Day) fishing for brim on the creeks and backwaters of the upper Cooper River. I had a good time with the sunfish: caught a bunch of stumpknockers, and those Cooper River redbreast are absolutely beautiful in spawning colors.

I tried a bit for a catfish as it gopt dark, and did manage to get one small (about 5 pounds) flathead, but that was all.

LOTS of bowfishers out. Is that normal for the upper Cooper?

Sorry the focus on the pics isn't better, but my little digital camera doesn't do macro...
