cool background for those who thinks ma tractors sexy

    print it and put it on the wall

    anyone wanna take a stab at the model no.of this one??

    guess before you nail it .

    I'm going to guess a G. With the big exhaust stack, great pulling tractor all though I prefer the red ones LOL.

    i was feeling likea goof as no one was responding at all when i posted it.
    the picture is an altered version of an original photo of a john deere 40
    (my favorite model)
    here is an regular picture of it.
    the first one i posted is like a print on a burlap sack look
    i wood like to have a large print of that on my den wall

    Never had any dealings with the 60's I have seen a few 70's and G models that is a nice model and a very clear pic.

    I would have said a G, that was the last JD I drove and that was over 55 years ago. :eek:oooh:

    HEY at least it's GREEN!!!!I never was on a 40 did I run the 420,620,630,720 and B.The last JD I had was a 1952 B.

    somebody explain what a popin john is ,is it a 3 cylinder john deer iv heard them run and they do pop ,but i :roll_eyes: dont know why they pop

    Hey Charles The poping johnny . They were refered to that because they were two cylinder engines. They made the popping sound when they ran. It was even more pronounced when they idled real slow or had a pull on them.

    The last two lunger I ran was a 620 gas narrow front. Oldest one I got now is a 4010 1962 model. Nearly have it restored. I have had everything except the tire repaired or replaced front to back. Going to be great to have it back again. It is a diesel model. Wide front.
