George, I'm getting to where I hate to hear the word concert.
Oldest girl went on her first date to one last weekend.
Never got to see "the bearded ones" in concert.
I heard as you said thought that it was one great show.
(started laughing when you typed"#3 son. Remember that crap about that?)
Good day Big G

I saw the ZZ Top afterburner tour when I was a senior in high school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. What a great performance. The stage set was awesome, as was the guys all moving in unison throughout the whole show. I could hardly believe my ears when I heard ZZ was going to be in concert at the Buffalo Run casino in Miami, Oklahoma in the middle of September...which is only 25 miles from my house. I got my tickets just last Saturday as soon as they were offered for sale at $35 apiece. I'll be taking my wife, 15 year old son, 8 year old daughter, and my 5 year old daughter as well. I'm primed for it!!

I plan on taking hearing protection for the little ones...as for my wife, my son, and myself...there's little hearing left to lose! It's also an outdoor show, which will help somewhat with the noise.

Wow, ZZ Top would rock....my dad loves them, and I know he's seen them several times. My favorite song by them is La Grange. :D

Tim, I saw Pink Floyd with my dad at Three Rivers Stadium when I was fourteen...that was coolness itself.

I've also seen Aerosmith (the were okay...Stephen Tyler is entertaining, if nothing else  )

How does is make me feel to hear of all these bands referred to as "oldies" now, rather than the "classic rock" they were when I was growing up

Bon Jovi and Motley Crue are classic rock, to my daughters generation. :p

Yeah, Tim, I think it was Division Bell. And the pig, that floated down to the stage? Coolness. I grew up listening to classic rock with me dad. ZZ Top, Stones, Led Zep, The Nuge, Beatles, Floyd, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath...jeez, can't even think of them all. Iron Butterfly? Jethro Tull...J. Geils Band, Steve Miller...what memories... :)

Saw zz at the Ionia County Free Fair this summer.... saw Floyd's Diission Bell tour from the catwalks of the Pontiac Silverdome... boy from 90 feet above ground it seemed all the better- of course it coulda been the contact high from the rising smoke. lol

Of the dozens of concerts I saw, floyd rocked my world, zz was "nostalgia-good". My surprise awesome show was the "Squirrel Nut Zippers" (a swing band from the mid 90s.) For 6 people, they really had a lot of talent and they all could play any instrument ya put in front of em. It cannot compare to Floyd on a "blow ya away" level, but as for talent they really impressed me.

One of the better non-concert concerts I saw was jewel doing acoustic sets in a coffee shop the summer before her career broke in 1995- it was obvious that her style was unlike anything else around and that her talent didnt belong in that small room. a good bonus that will likely never happen again.

I ment that to say that part of the joy of that concert is to see them pull it off again and again.... like watching the stones or Aerosmith... how after aall the years shows and drugs they still cann carry on a coherent concert.... thats what I meant by nostalgia good.

Its still a rocking concert

I just bought zz top's newest cd, rancho texicano,(2004). It has 38 tracks, the old stuff, some new stuff, and a live version of cheap sunglasses. I reccomend it, if you are a zz top fan.
