Not sure what came over me, but I hit the river Saturday at daylight for a overnighter. Fishing was slow, but did scape up a few bass, jacks, and crappie. No luck on anything except small white sinnerbaits with gold colorado blades. I tried a few holes during the day with cut herring and shad with absolutely no success. Satuday night I set a few lines off the bar with large hunks of cut shad and got several good hits. Just one problem. By the time I got unwrapped and ran down from the fire it was too late. I'm thinking Blues. Too cold for Flatties..... Right? The river is on a steady rise and a little muddy. Water temp went from 45 deg on Sat. to 42 deg on Sunday. I think that may have been behind the slow bite.
