cold weather bait

    i have only fished in the summer for catfish, since its warmed up a little lol if 45 is warm i realy want to do sme fishin. in the summer i use bluegill and creek chubs but those are no were to be found . my question is wat else should i use i dont have a boat , so im prety much stuck to the bank. i live in lynchburg and fish around down town and up near the dam and around the trussel any tips are welcome thanks.

    Some guys from Massachusettes were down here in Richmond fishing the week between Christmas and New Years. They caught Big Bluecats on Gizzard Shad freshly caught,(Normal) and surprise surprise,,,,,,,,,,Beef Liver. Big ole bloody palm size hunks and caught Blues to 50 pounds on it.

    Yeah since you're a bank fisherman, you may want to invest in a casting net. Eels live and cut are always a good option. If you have money to spend on bait you could go to fish markets and get some fresh herring, etc
