we got our first cold front in o.k.c. to day. will the cats be hitting?
should be hitting in shallower water. i know the crappie will. we got one and im catchin em in a foot of water on a trotline. so far, 3, 3 1/2, 7, 10, and 11 pounders. try cut bait for the cats, and a minnow about 4 to 9 ft down on the bank or some structure for crappie.
thanks for the info bro.
if your used to catching 10 cats a night expect 1 or 2 from the same spot. Thats how it always turns out for me when cold fronts rear there ugly head
see, just after the cold front is good. i used to think that too, but i have caught 5 in the last day on a trot line set in a foot of water. i think it lets them search the shallows for food. IMHO
Good question, thanks for askin. I am interested to know also. I heard that during winter the cats go deep but I don't know when the cold front first moves in. :confused2:
Depends on what kind of cats.In my experience, the fall cold fronts seem to really put a damper on the flattin.Don,t seem to bother the channels though.
