More so directed at you Men (or women) that fish coastal tidal waters where pogies are present in the fall and winter. Do you ever fish them for a dragging bait for blues? We have them here in South Alabama in the fall and winter around some of the discharges in the lower rivers. Just wondering if it would be worth trying for a winter bait when the shad are hard to find.

Depends on if we are talking about the same thing. What people call pogies elsewhere are called bunker or alewife here, but their actual name is atlantic menhaden. If so, that is almost exclusively what I use in Maryland tidal rivers for blues and they get the job done really well.
