I've got some frozen shad and my hands smell like shad so I'm ready.

Good luck to you guys! I'm about to go pick up my dad and hit the ol' White River in search of some of those pesky channel cats, or really anything that'll bite.

There was lots of debris floating down the river that hit our lines that got our hopes up.

I had a few taps on a frozen shad head and then nothing.

The first time on the big river I learned.
Riding over the barge wakes can get you really wet.
When a barge toots his horn you better get out of the way.
I can snag the bottom in 40 foot of water just as easy a 3 foot of water.
I can also get skunked on the big river.
It's also really good to fish with couple nice catfishermen on the big river.

Stacee did get a little wet from spray. That is why we set the new guy up front. Sorta as a shield. lol.

Lots of debris, some big but mostly small. Ramp covered with mud but there was a worker with a bobcat clearing a lot of it off.

    tight lines

Thanks for all the good wishes guys

Yea we couldn't buy a bite. We were throwing a buffet of baits, both bite size:cool: and adult servings, and only got some small fish nibbles. Shad, skipjack, shiners, chubs, CBMIGP....

Got to experience dealing with a hung up anchor. Wasn't fun but we got it back.

It was a nice day out. It was good fishing with you Stacee, glad you could go. We will have to try again for those cats that are blue. Perhaps Tom can try again to put us on them.

And speaking of Tom he has tried hard this year to put me on a blue. I appreciate that, but I guess it wasn't meant to be today. Hopefully we will get on them next time.

I wonder how Rick and his dad did...

Not a problem Dan. You gave us a good spot, but the cats had cold feet. It happens.

It was some experience on the big water and not getting any makes me even more motivated to try again.

Jon the two pb's in one year is great achievement and I know that didn't happen overnight.

Also I don't think Tom's boat allows for small fish to come aboard.

We unfortunately couldn't track down any bait close by to go after any whisker fish. So we had a backup plan, but that required picking up a bucket of minnows in Greenwood and hitting one of my winter bass/walleye spots. We caught some nice smallmouth and white bass, but for some reason I rarely ever get on any cats down that way. Still a great day to get out...glad you all were able to enjoy it as well!

Well today is my last day. I know the odds are extremely against me. That wind is brutal, its pretty cold out, and river is up. Time to drink some coffee and prepare. It will most likely be a short session. If I don't go I will be mad at myself for not trying. After today I won't go back out untill its a nice day out. I'll keep yall posted.
