I am close to giving up on this motor, took it out for about 9 hours yesterday fishing the river. Was still bogging down every once in a while and completley going dead, but given the circumstances didnt do to bad considering how long I was on the water. But then at the end of the day the tach went out? The fuel gauge was acting funny all day, but I have a feeling that had to do with the ground on the sending unit, as I had the floor boards up cleaning up some wiring the day before, not to worried about that. But what would cause a tach to completley quit like that? I mean nothing at all. I am parking this boat until its right, gonna go ahead and do a carb rebuild, but it looks like now I have some electrical problems I have to track down. Any suggestions?

I can't help on the electrical/ tach issues but the bogging down sure sounds like the carbs, you may try to just pull them off and inspect them.. i had a similar problem and it ended up there was just a bunch of crap in the bowls.. cleaned them all out and it runs like a champ now... good luck.
