when you buy a reel brand new, when would be the best time to oil it up??
I bought a abu 6000 and about the third time of using it seemed like it wasnt reeling as smooth as it should be. Also when casting, its not as quite as it was.. will cleaning it fix these probs?? :0a5:

It probably doesn't need cleaning after three uses. A few drops of oil on the line guide might be a plus. Be sure no fishing line is caught in the spool.

most of my problems have been with line guides also...that and my reels get sand in them..

I never clean or oil my abu baicasters, ever. and some are still working great after 10 years.

You might need to check your line/eyes
