Circle Hooks

    I have used eagle claw hooks all my life and I had to try circle hooks so I go by some under the eagle claw brand ok it seems like I am hooking up more I mean I am really impressed but a lot of the times the hook still goes into the fish belly anybody got advice I am using medium action rods spin cast reels I let the fish hook himself before I do anything.:confused2:

    Had the same thing a time or Two using Eagle Claws especially the five oughts. Switched To Gamakatzu octopus circles 6,7,and 8 ought no problems. A lot more hook ups with the Gamaktzus too. Missed a lot of fish with the eagle claws. I have used various eagle claw hooks for years and think they make good hooks, but in my opinion their circle hooks are only good for hanging ornaments on your Christmas Tree. Also if you are fishing a loose line with circles, smaller cats tend to swallow smaller hooks and baits.
