What is the best size circle hook to use for catfishing?:cool2:
I Use 8/0 Gamakatsus Octupus Circle Hooks... Only Size I Use..
9/0 Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp
4/o fer eaters, 8/0 fer most others, I like the Gammas myself.
i like gamma octopus but have been haveing good luck with the octopus circle in line, 6 or 8ot
I like 8/0 team catfish double action and 8/0 gamakatsu. Good on flats and blues
I'm due for some restocking of the tackle box, but at the moment I'm using 2/0 Octopus Circle, 3/0 and 4/0 Circle, and 5/0 Octopus hooks. Even some #1 and #2 baitholders for smaller cats. It just depends where I'm fishing, even 3/0's are big for some of the farm ponds and small lakes I fish. I rarely feel a need for much over 5/0 or 6/0, even on the rivers...but I know a lot of guys really like 8/0's, especially up on the Ohio.
Mike I see you live in lex. I used to live in LA lex. area. hehe. I live @ Clays ferry look me up if you wanna fish the river or somewhere.
I have a variety of sizes of circle hooks and bait size determines the hook size I use.
I am very fond of the 8/0 Gammy with a gill though.
