circal hooks for trout

    I tried small circle hooks a couple of years ago in an attempt to keep them from getting hooked so deep but they swallowed the hook just the same. Try some mustad 37140 or their shrimp/caddis pupae hooks. You can find them in fly shops or online. The 37140 and 37142's may be hard to find in the smaller sizes (14's and 16's).

    When bait fishing for trout they tend to be hook shy. If you are trying to hide your hook from the fish the circle hooks would be of no use. If you had very large trout and were using large live bait (this would be uncommon fishing trout), they would probably be ok.
