Do any of you chum on larger rivers with swift currents? Should I use a chum bag, or just continuously throw a little out?

I fish on the missouri river north of Omaha at Decatur, NE and just looking for some tips on chumming as the current seems to strong to do any good.

Also does anyone know how I can get some shad witthout a boat in my area?

Get a bucket with a lid at home depot or lowes 2 gal or 5 gallon and drill it full of 1/4" holes and put your favorite chum in it. You can add some weight to it tie a rope to it and send it to the bottom
