Cracked corn soaked for about 24-48 hours is a good chum.
To get it out there, google baiting spoon.

Corn and bread soaked and mashed together are a basic easy mix. If you want to have a little more success prebaiting works well, that is baiting an area for weeks or days prior to actually fishing, or baiting heavy everytime you go fishing. I use range cubes, 50lb bag costs me 7 dollars, and they smell like mollases and break down to piles of bait once in the water for 20-30 minutes. Launch them with a sling shot. It may not be successful everywhere, but it has worked for me.
