I have found chubs to work really well as bait for catfish and bass. I always go to small creeks and runoffs from rivers. I use a sain or a small size hook with a wax worm or small peice of night crawler or shrimp, almost anything works. I have had decent luck cathing them but wondered what your methods were.

I like using small hooks and worm pieces on ultra-lites. Holes in small creeks have proven productive for me. Keeping them alive can prove to be a problem though so I use a frozen 1/2 gal. milk jug to slow their metabolism and air stone. I freeze the dead one's and use them for cut bait. Stay safe and enjoy the moment.

I've had some success using creek chubs also..I use a cast net to catch them..
