I have found that if I'm using Chicken Liver and not getting any bites, there's no fish of any kind where I'm at.

Fishing Chicken Liver in the same spot along with any other baits, Chicken Liver will get the bites, while the others may not.

Went out fishing yesterday in the San Gabriel at Circleville, and yep, got more bites & fish off of the Chicken Liver, while fishing Big Marv's & J Piggs in bascially the same spot at the same time. What a disappointment to know my hard to find baits did not seem to work as well as plain ole Liver.

Consider adding Garlic shrimp to the test and see if you get the same answer.

I always used liver as my go to bait for channels and it worked great. I have found that fresh cut shad do even better though.

i feel that way about nightcrawlers,if theres no fish biting on nightcrawlers there not going to bite on anything cause every species of fish will hit a nightcrawler.
