Next time I'm down in the Hill Country, I'm heading to Snook, TX! :smile2:

I miss that TV program "Texas Country Reporter" with Bob Phillips.

Here's another yummy way to fix bacon. Take some Waverly Wafers, Club Crackers, etc. and wrap each cracker with a half slice of bacon. Cook in microwave till the bacon is done to your taste.

Caution: If, like me, you're too cheap to use half a roll of paper towels under the bacon while it's cooking, and decide that one towel on top of a bunch of newspaper will work just as well, check the newspaper for colored pictures. There's something in the colored ink that gets superhot in a microwave; it will cause the bacon to burn black on the bottom.

lol that reminds me of something we did last year. me and some friends were butchering a deer and we couldnt get pork fat to use in grinding sausage. we got a good deal on bacon ends. big hunks of pork fat with a lil meat in it. basically the end of the cured bacon they chop off to square it up. we were using it as the pork fat for $ .49 lb. my buddies dad started poping a few pieces on his mouth as we were grinding. RAW. he said "thier cured". after we finished we were frying up some deer loin strips in grease cause we were starving. then low and behold the bacon end started going in. they were great.

basically deef fat fried pork fat!,lol.

I haven't tried it, just watching the video made my cholesterol rise. I never seen any extremely skinny people eating it.
