I had the fine honor of escorting Steve Payne from Greenback, Tenn. catfishing today. Steve showed me a thing or three about walleye fishing on Tellico Lake a month or two back. Today was payback time... my turn to show him about Chickamauga Lake Catfish! We put the boat into "The Catfish Factory" well before daylight. The fish were VERY cooperative, nearly as hot as the weather has been. We started out with a fine double right at sunrise. Slowed for a little while after that but once we found the right drift line, rods were doublin'-down with some regularity. Big fish was a 19... but just about all the others were also real quality fish from 8-to-15 lbs. All were released to fight again another day... but I'd say we put at least 150 lbs. in the boat today, probably more. And we left 'em bitin' to head for the Chattanooga Fishing Forum Picnis where I had the fine and pleasant honor of meeting Fish (a.k.a. Jim Marshall and Ms. Marshall)!
Life is good and gettin' better every day!

Anyone who ever gets a chance to fish with Richard Simms needs to take advantage of it. He is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and WILL put you on fish!

Erik, that sounds like a winner buddy, we will have to hit the water and put a whoopin on some cats together sometime soon.
