That was BOC member Radish that caught it. There is a thread he started on it. It'd for sure been a world record but he wanted to spare the Blues life rather than take a chance on it dying for his name in the Record Books. True Sportsman's choice he made. I commend him for that!!! I'll find the link for you.

That's a hawg for sure. Man, I guess I need to invest in some 200 pound scales! I am glad he released it, I just hate it for him that he didn't get a good weight on it, for his own personal knowledge!!!

I would recommend if that happens again.....make a mark on the side of the boat at water level with as much of the fish out of the boat as possible then duplicate it with weights. Might work.....not sure but I think I could get close. Probably wouldn't be a legal world record but sure would be some good bragging rights.

Yeah its awesome that he let that fish go, here in Ohio since they just reopened the blue catfish as a gamefish, someone caught a 57lber, and it was weighed the next freakin day at a post office...:angry:...I would much rather see them swim off than get my name in the paper...just my .02

Yep....I got a pm from radish that I can't respond to until I get 10 posts. Buddy a fish that size will make you think twice about trying to man handle it......you could wind up in the water and the fish in the boat. I don't know what I'd do with that sucker. That would be a little scary. Actually I think that would be something that would happen while I was fishin' by my self.

I for one am glad that RADISH caught it and not someone else ,,Why because he is a tru sport's man he was not looking for a claim to fame or bragging right's he was doing something he love's to do and that's catch fish.

radish Is a true sportsman for sure. Most would have went for the glory and not the satisfaction of knowing it is still swimming .. Guys like that are one of the things that make this site what it is....
