My nephew caught a similar lookin cat a year ago ,looked tike it should have weighed 6-7 lbs but it was less than three,We cleaned it and found its insides completely infested with round worms. needless to say the kittys had that one for a meal.

yeah, his dorsal fin looks deformed, but that can happen lots of ways. Mainly he just looks like either he aint eatin or it has some kind of parasite. I don't know if I'd even feed him to your pets.

Yep, most likely parasites. Toss him in the woods somewhere.

Yeah, I wouldn't eat that one. He looks pretty sickly. It's just an old skinny channel cat. Every once in a while we get one like that at the fish farm I work at. I guess the others just out compete them for food.

Maybe he was gut hooked in the past and it impeded his eating maybe. That or the parasites

Personally, I think that cat is a prime example of one that should be turned over to your local DNR. They would be able to to check the fish and determine if there was a problem that could affect the fishery, or if it was just as Bill Engval says, a Dork Fish

I think your thinking of the saltwater gafftopsail cat, with the slimey loose looking skin and the deformed upper dorsal fin.
