    they bow fish those gar , but what do they do with them next ? want not waste not . do they eat them ? or just kill for sport ? gar are edible and not bad tasting either theres at least 200lb of meat in that one hanging that they had , did it go to waste ?

    sorry to upset anyone but to me if you kill it eat it , i just cant see wasting a fish , any fish .

    It said that they use all the meat.. what they don't eat themselves they give to other people.. they even make jewelry out of the scales..

    Yea, that one falls into the biggun cat. Having been with a buddie that actually hooked one like that, I know them guy's had there hands full..... we lost the fish trying ta land im.... man that fish fought, jumped and everyone's jaw's hit the bottom of the boat. we hooked him trolling live golden shiners about 12 inches long while fishing for stripers in Va.. They eat good also taste like pork. Iffin ya cut them straight down the spine they even look like pork chops, fried and served with rice and gravy you can't tell the differance MMMMMMMMMMgood!!!!!!!!!

    I used to catch them in Mississippi years ago , nothing close to that big ..they can tear a hand up trying to hold them though

    If I saw something like that swimming around my boat (assuming I had a boat LOL) I don't know if I could get a shot off because I would be too busy staring in awe! :big_smile:
