Ummm...he didnt catch it. He said he found it "web fishing". That fish if I am not mistaken came from either France or Belgium. Still a nice fish no matter who caught it.

It is the same as a common carp except for a bit of genetic deviance. I have only caught one myself, but in England they are fairly common and desireable for their unique scales. Sometimes you can find a small body of water with many mirror carp. Neat huh? Hannibal Mike

In the US, there seem to be a lot of really large carp in the St Lawrence seaway (20 to 40lbs) and in the city of Austin, TX they have a lake called "Town Lake" where they catch very very large carp and buffalo. I am curious if Town Lake also has big cats. I have seen pics of 50lb buffs and 40+ lb carp. There is a nice organization called Carp Anglers Group where you can pick up some good ideas for baits, rigs, etc. Hannibal Mike

The Austin Team Championships are being held this week at Town Lake. I am guessing that it will take a 30-35 lb carp to win individual honors. I have been told that there are some mighty fine catfish in there as well.
