Went by Steve Browns Catfish Safari rod and tackle shop yesterday. He had his new Flathead rod there. It is a full 1 piece eight foot e-glass rod with green wraps and the the handle is wrapped in camoflagued cord.

These rods are really nice, I couldnt help myself and had him order me 3 of them. Can't wait till next week to get them.

Heres a couple of pictures. Its hard to see all the the camo pattern in these small pics. We put several reels on them to see how they looked. He had a green 7000 that matched it perfect. The silver 7000ic3 and gray shimano tekota reels also look awesome on the rod.

If your looking for a new rod you gotta check these out.

I showed that to Regina and told her thats what I wanted for Christmas...She laughed. Is that good or bad?:wink::smile2:
Nice rod though! I'd never be able to pack a 1 piece 8 foot rod anywhere. I have a hard enough time with my 12" 2 piece in the car.:smile2:

The safari rod is one, tough looking rod and steve has, put time and testing in developing these rods their cat tested, They will work, may have to buy a couple more. If I can talk Santa into it. how many rods can we have in Missouri.:smile2:

I seen where someone else was talking about these and tried Steve's website to get an idea of what they look like, but couldn't find anything. Nice pics Troy, I'm gonna have to put in an order soon so I can have some decent Rods on the boat. Does Steve put any combos together?

Michael, he has a tackle shop also and carrys about every good reel out there. Penns, Abu's, Okumas, Shimanos, Averts, and several others. I know he has combo deals depending on what your wanting and I know if he dosent have it he can order it for you. Give him a call, he just re-stocked a ton of new reels and has about every model on hand. Heres Steve's number.

Yeah, I just ordered two flathead rods. I am looking forward to checking them out. Really like the parabolic action of those rods.
