Ya'll know that bait net I've been learning to throw?

Well, I got a good cast into Caesar's Creek tonight and pulled out this 4 pound 10 once bass!

She must have been laying her eggs, Nice fish! Always fun when ya get something "strange" going after bait. Like on of them 20# Asian Carp, LOL!

I hope she wasn't laying them where I caught her! The lake is badly flooded, and she what on what is usually the road.

i agree with randy. if you water temps are above 62 degrees she has already spawned. when your water temps get aroun 68 to 70 degrees the shad will move right in on the bank to spawn and the bass will be there to eat them. congratulations on the whole net throwing thing.

    Angie,
I am pretty sure`that any fish that is considered a gamefish must be released immediately if it is caught by any method other than rod and reel. Just don't want to see anybody get in trouble.
Congrats on learning to use the cast net, I still need to work on my technique.

Thanks. It was released immediately after I got it untangled from the net and found out how big it was. I don't eat any fish, and have no reason to keep a fish unless it's used for bait, but most everything I catch, including snapping turtles get weighed and checked out.

Congrats on learning to throw the cast net. I caught a very nice bass in mine at a park pond trying for shad last year. Admired it for a sec and threw it back. Are the feeder creeks coming down at all? As we had discussed previously that spot off 380 should be rocking if you can get to it and have about 18 inches of water in it. We used to slay flatties there in the 80's and 90's. I saw your post about getting ticketed for open container in anotheer thread, was that at Ceasar Creek? We used to drink beer there and the ranger never said a word, just checked for the ol' fishing license.
