channel catfish chum

    Today I caught the channels from 5# to 10# consistantly in 18 feet of water my bites where consistant I harvest 3 fish and returned the rest I caught one I belive maybe over 10# pounds my line broke before I got him in the boat I caught and released so many it was wild I used chum I fermented for a week in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid on I used corn catfish scrapes raw shrimp and chicken blood.:big_smile:

    I bet that smelled good. what kind of bait did You use?

    Raw shrimp and night crawlers both worked well.and it did smell but i kept it sealed when not using so it was not that bad.

    Did you put it out in a specific place before hand, or just chum as you fished?

    hey owl I used the chum as i fished in one paticular spot.I picked the spot because the area has a lot of boat traffic an I noticed some dead fish as a result of being hit by boat I belive the dead fish sink to the bottom and the big channels are dinning in style lol...reason I belive this is when I cleaned them undigested fish part that kind of look like the result of the boat propeller but this is just my thoughts
