Channel catfish and water temps.

    Can anyone tell me at what water temp Channel cat start activily feeding?

    In my part of the world on a big tidal river the magic number is 50 to 55 degrees. Must be the magic number for them. As soon as that river starts to run at that consistant temp, look out and hang on.

    Thanks George, thats what i was thinking but wasnt sure. Our water temps are around 40 to 42. I went fishing tues. on the river knowing the water was to cold, but just had to get out.

    Well, looks like we got a couple more weeks of waiting splitshot:big_smile: I does feel good to get out though. I'm going to Bob's bait this week and pick up some herring.
