Anybody changed the rope on a motor guide bow mount trolling motor? Mine is about to break. It looks like it is going to be a booger to change. I hope I can find one local, because I'm headed to Santee in five days and don't have time for shipping. If I can't find it local I might have to rig it with a pull rope for a lawn mower or the pullrope for an outboard. There is a 3/4 inch hole that looks like it is the access hole to thread the rope through. I really want to use one of those steel cables made by Rod Saver, but I'm not paying a fortune to have it shipped. Any suggestions?

I'd say use that lawn mower rope idea,, any repair shop will have THE GOOD STUFF in a bulk roll

I just changed the rope on my old motor guide. Piece of cake. I went with heavier nylon but it ain't gonna bust. It's not bad in the yard but a chore if your on the water.

Chaged it today, no problems! Needle nose pliers were the weapon of choice.
