Welcome to the BOC Dave.. I haven't had any luck catching any cats at the chain of rocks.. Patrick will probably chime in here pretty soon.. He fishes from the bank between the bridges and caught a nice flathead last summer.. Hope this helps..

I fish the chain of rocks and always do real good on big blues from the bank in the spring when the water is up. I will be going out , late feb and march or just as soon as the spring water starts to rise. I know a good spot where we can catch them. You are anyone else can go and I will show you where.

    Patrick

I only fish from the bank and do so around ALTON DAM and the Chain of Rocks area. The place I am curious about is the place where the water flows over the rocks. I see people fishing on the sand down from the water and I was wondering about the blues. I fished there about a month ago and could only catch perch.

    Thanks for the info.

They had some equipment down there last week doing something around the parking area.. They probably don't want any 4 wheeler tearing the road up while its muddy..
