Is it safe to cross over the chain of rocks by boat at current river levels? What would you say is the lowest river level that's SAFE to cross the chain? And what river gauge is that data from?

    Thanks

Dan, I crossed over the Chain last month with water levels close to what they are now. There's a post here on that. I have a jet drive on my boat so don't have to worry to much about striking something submerged, maybe some others here can tell more about crossing with a prop. It is a rough and intimidating crossing for sure.....

Dan, the reading this am is 28.78. It has been posted by several people that 17 is the lowest they would attempt it. Tear em up buddy.:smile2::smile2:

Oh, by the way Dan....with my boat the Mississippi will never get to low at the Chain for me to cross. There is one heck of lot more water there than most rivers a jet boat could operate in!

Hey Dan I crossed it at 13.8 ft. with a prop but only in 1 spot you have to be careful.
