Last Friday I launched at Kaw Point and ran up river a little over six miles to a spot I caught a dink the previous week. At 9:30 I landed a 3-4 pound flathead. Rebaited with a small bullhead and at 9:45 landed a another 3-4 pounder that happened to have a MDC 25 dollar reward tag. Then the rain came down and we had to leave. Whats really cool about the tagged fish is that I work for a MDC fisheries biologest on the catfish project on the platte river and there is a very good chance I personally tagged the fish. The flathead was tagged in Augest of 2005 at the mouth of the platte river and was 16.0 inches. When I caught it was 20 inches.
    Good fishin'

That's awesome! It's like killing a banded duck except you can release it.

Up @ St. Joseph, MO on the MO river, the group of guys I fish with and I have managed to catch 10 tagged fish total...all were flatheads. I thought it was a treat the first time I caught one, but it became a usual thing there after awhile. That is pretty cool though, that you might have personally tagged a fish and latter on caught it.

Way to go! Let us know what happens (do they send paperwork? do they give you details on the migration patterns? etc).
