Caught my biggest Channel cat of the year last night, fishing in the Champlain canal. He weighed 10 lbs, caught him on garlic flavored chicken liver around 9:30 pm. It was the only fish i caught in seven hrs. of fishing, but i was a happy camper. When i was releasing him i dropped my digital scale in the water--oh well now ive got a excuse to buy a better one LOL. The temps up here are averageing in the mid 40s at night so im hoping the bite picks up!!

Congrats on a great channel! Did you eat him or give him back? I'd say he'd made a mighty fine dinner!!! :smile2:

An average night time low is around 70 during july and august. Sept. lows are usually in the low to high 40s. By the end of the month the night time lows will be in the upper 30s. I live in the mountains so winter usually gets here pretty early. The leafs here are starting to turn already and we can expect snow by the end of oct. or early november. Suppose to get down to 40 tonight.

    Steve,

That's a fine specimen for sure! Did you have a partner in the boat taking the pic, or how did you set it up to get the pic by yourself?

I caught a nice one last night too, but couldn't figure out a way to get a pic by myself. So, I waited until today before the filet procedures! :smile2:
