Went to a small county lake lastnight that I figured should have some decent Channels in it. I was trying to cast out to the creek channel thinking as hot as it was they might be deep . After several hours of nothing and thinking about packing it up I remember'd all the posts about fishing shallow after dark . Pulled my cured chicken liver [also picked up from this sight, with my own twist [more later ] to within about 5ft of the bank , went to check on another rod and WHAM I had a great bite but only one. I rebaited cast to the same area and like a dumby went back to finish what I started with the other pole . You guessed it , WHAM again ,got back just in time to keep my rod from going into the lake , about an 8lbs Channel which for me is agood fish .
Thanks for all the help !

Very nice Channel Cat. Have to try some of those cured livers, I hate messing around with the fresh stuff.

I.E. Liver , let me mess with what I did to the liver before I put it out there , I don't want to waste anyones timme and money if it's no good. If its worth trying ,I'll put it in the home made bait section in a week or so.
    Thanks
