Had a great day on the lake with my best buddy.

We caught 18 cats in 3hrs on the banks at Perry.

Had 5 over 6 lbs biggest was 7.5

Total weight for the 18 was 72 lbs

My buddy had one on that broke off.. BIG FISH.

All were caught on the rock banks using shrimp soaked in ded red.

More pic coming from Ricks Camera

Nice bunch of channels. Looks like a good day on the lake. But I have to ask what is the ded red you are talking about. I never heard of it.

Get er done Tom!. Not bad for a days work.:smile2:I have thought about trying out that Dead Red spray. I think I will. Shrimp seems to be a good choice for it. That would be the perfect bait for my wade fishin.

Tom, you can buy it from teamcatfish its a spray you can add to your bait.I started using this yr and it seems to work.
I soak my shrimp with it and the cats seem to like it.

It's some sort of blood and anise.

Kyle..It would work good in the shallows it leaves one hell of a sent.

Jamie..the cat is out of the hat, it will be at Milford with me dont tell anyone:wink::big_smile:

Keith if you can go through the week in the evenings let me know.
I will be going after work next week give me a call 785-231-8541.

1st, let me thank you Sir for your service to our country!!

Kansas is a great state to catch cats in but you are in a good state as well to catch those cats we all love.

Good luck fishing and keep us posted back in Kansas on your catches..

Tom, are you bobber fishing these cats on the rocks, or bouncing the bait down the rocks with no weight or what?

With the wind today we were using about 1/8th oz weight with the shrimp bouncing it down on the bottom.
A bobber will work but you can cover more ground by just casting.
All these cats were caught in the same place because we had to anchor due to the battery's going dead on us on the trolling motor.

Cats will have the same pattern this time of yr on any body of water where the crappie spawn on rock banks.
What to look for is to find gar on the banks and you will find the cats.

The gar and the cats are eating the crappie eggs this time of yr.
Then the gar will spawn on the same banks and the cats will be in there eating the gar eggs durning the gar spawn.

After this the cats will be spawning on the same banks.Finds these areas/banks and it repeats itself year after year.

All these cats were males but three, and the three female's we caught their eggs looked to be about 2-3 weeks away before spawning.

looks like great fishing. was there a lot of flow in the river today from the storms in nebraska? with all the wind forcast for tomorrow, seems the river will be the only safe place to fish from a boat.

James We were out on the main body of the lake today so not sure if any runoff is coming down the river.

The wind I hear is going to blow big time tomorrow out of the north/nw so your right the river might be the only place to get in on.

Did you catch these along Dam Road? I have never been to Perry, but have been thinking about going out there sometime soon. It's hard to go to a lake that size and just try your luck from the bank, lol.

Ryan I was fishing a mid lake point from the boat.
The areas i been catching cats from is from boats only.

There is one place I know of that you can get to by bank but the cats have not shown up there yet. When they do i can tell you how to get to it if you come to Perry.
