I decided to get out for some fall fishing today, in Ottawa, IL. I fished the IL, however tried to pick up some shad at the mouth of the Fox and thought I was stepping on the rope to my casting net. Boy was I wrong as I watched my net sink about 5' from me. Not a good start to my morning, and this is after spilling coffee on the deck of the boat.....I kept thinking I should just leave; however after a hour and a half drive no way. Luckilly I brought some Crawlers and Chicken Liver so off I went.

I hit my first spot and kept getting hits; however none commited. They were sucking the liver off my Circle Hook, so I changed to a Catfish hook apparently was to big; because It also kept getting cleaned. After 3 hours of this I decide to switch to treble hooks and figured they can't slurp a treble...WRONG...I ended up picking up 4 little ones and a decent size sheephead (on a worm).

It's always nice to get out and I couldn't beat the weather today.
