Thanks for the complament. One like this dont come along every day.
Steve, That's an awesome fish ! I bet Barb was trippin with that hoss on the line , huh ? How long did it take her to get it to the boat? I ain't hung but a few like that on rod n reel, but they always managed to break off, before I could get em in.... Whatcha using ,65# Power Line on your reels ? I have a gaff, but always seem to forget it when I get a good one on. I tore my dip net all up when I dipped up that thirtyseven pounder. That net wasn't nearly bout big enough !:smile2: If I don't go to Clarks tomorrow evening to check on renting a cabin, I may come sunday. If I do, I'll swing by and chat with yall a little while.... Thanks for posting the big one !
Yes your son is precious cargo. I had a SON that was 19 years old he got killed on a Motorcycle In Oct. 12 , 2003.
It did not take long to get that fish in . Five to Ten min. I had 50 lb. line on a big Pin. reel and
That's for sure man ! The last good one I heard caught was July fourth, seventy two pounds, jugging ! We had one on about four or five weeks ago, wasn't quite as big as yours but a pretty nice one. I got him to the top and seen that he was barely hooked in the lip so when he lunged, I let go of the noodle, and Collie grabbed it as it came by the back of the boat and pulled loose before he could get the net under it.... I think we both got teary eyed on that one....I know there's some good ones in the river, and somebody's gonna catch one someday 'bout a hundred pounds. They are in there, I promise you !
I don't know where everybody is tonight !
I guess they've all gone AWOL !
Last night you couldn't get a word in edgewise on here !:confused2:
Steve, that's one heck of a fish.
Yes you right about that I hope I can get one that will go 100 plus some day. I think le state record will come out of the Red River.
Think you I wont to be on that reel and rod next time.
There was five of use in the boat I told Barbra that if we get a fish on then she could reel him in the rest is history.
Im gona try to go to sleep now but may not be able too after seeing that big cat. Makes me wanna take tomorrow off to go fishing. I wonder if my wife will let me quit my job. I wanna be a river bum.:smile2::smile2::smile2:

Still a little new around here....What exactly is a "goo" ???
It's another name for a trash fish called gaspergoo, or a freshwater drum; a big ole buffalo/carp lookin' critter. Eric/Gooboy's holding one in his avatar picture. He always offers up a "reward" for the biggest one we catch. They really aren't fit to eat....yuk!
