Went to wateree today but no luck , we got a lot of pulldowns but then they would just drop it and the only thing left would be the head, the darnest thing ! Tried whole gizzard shad and frozen white perch filets. It was a little cloudy this morning but ended up being really nice till bout 2 or 2:30 then wind picked up a little and we got a couple of good drifts in but still no luck, I grew up on wateree and have caught lots of fish there but for some reason I can't buy a fish there in last 4 trips but anyway all in all great day !:laugh1:

Try smaller pieces of cut bait.

When the're biting short like that I usually rerig with a stinger hook rig. Snell the bottom hook on then go up an inch or two and snell the main hook on. Hook the filet/bait on the top hook then hook the lower hook in the tail end of the bait. If they're still biting short, you will hook them on the bottom hook or normal bites may get both hooks.

The rig can tend to snag a little more, so keep your float closer to the bait.
