I don't mind a nice shower in the Summer but I run for the hills when the lightening starts..couple years ago my brother and I sat in the rain and when the water started turning muddy from the creek that flowed into the Missouri river. The Channels really turned on..in a matter of a couple hours we caught our limit of channel cats.. they didn't care what you threw out, they ate it.. creeks that run into the river are great places to be during a rain..also if you are fishing lakes..look for a valley that drains into the lake..it will draw fish with a good rain..

Rain doesn't seem to stop them for me, just makes 'em more aggressive.

If you are talking about Channel, I agree with this post 110%.

That goes the same for most fish, "Adspecaily All Catfish".

Actually Larry, it can be good when it's the other way around too; river up (and muddy) from rains upstream and the fish will gather in the mouths of the clear creeks.

like some others have said the best place is at the mouths of the feeder creeks cats will set up there cause its an easy meal, just set there and eat everything floating down the creek.

I think when it is raining a lot of bugs and other bait gets knocked and washed into the water. This gets bait fish to stirring and feeding which triggers the bigger fish to bite. I love fishing in the rain:wink: As has been stated some of my best outings have been in the rain.
