catfishing in feb.

    Does anyone know of a good place to catch some catfish in north Ga. the first weekend in Feb.I want have a boat ready by then I will have to bank fish.

    First of all welcome to the BOC. As for fishing north Georgia I wouldn't be able to help you since the last 6 trips I went on I caught nothing. Any info you got from me would probably be worthless:crazy:. Theres a lot of north ga folks in here and will be chiming in soon. Also depends on where in the north you are refering to. Tight lines to you.

    I don't know if anywhere in N. GA will be really good in early February. The water will be cold and blue cats bite better in cold water, so I would say somewhere that has blue cats. Maybe the lower Etowah River between Cartersville and Rome, or the Coosa River between Rome and Lake Weiss. If you want to try lakes, maybe you could try Lake Oconee or West Point. Check back here before you go and see if anyone is catching anything anywhere. Good luck fishin'.

    Try the deep holes in the Altamaha River in Southeast Ga...Good Luck
